DO be patient! Every artists works differently. Consider this fair warning; I CAN take a LONG time, on rare occasion, to finish commissions and trades or whatnot. It doesn't mean I have forgotten your work. Feel free to remind me, preferably no more than once a month since I really don't need reminded at all, or just to ask how far along I am with it etc. I do my best work when I don't feel under pressure. I'm not a professional, highly disciplined artist, so if I'm having trouble with the commission/trade, I may not have the drive to finish it depending on life circumstances at the time, etc. but it WILL get finished, or you WILL be refunded. So patience is MUCH appreciated. I only mention this as a 'just in case', since I have hundreds of references from commissioners I can offer you, showing that most of my commissions are done in a timely manner.
DO be polite! As far as commissions go, I LOVE it when commissioners treat me like a human being, and take the time to make smalltalk or add POSITIVE points about a work-in-progress commission, as WELL as whatever errors I have made. I do not mind at all to make corrections to a work, but please help me out by giving me detailed descriptions and references so that I won't have to do so as much and waste your time and mine! There's nothing more frustrating than when commissioners expect me to read their minds :/
DO ask me what I am/am not willing to draw. (In fact, DO ask questions in general!) I don't feel like making a lengthy list of the things I will/will not draw. So if there's anything questionable about your commission/trade idea, please make sure it's something I'm willing to draw BEFORE paying/doing your end of the trade!
DO know what you want! I understand it can be difficult, knowing which media you want, what theme, which character, etc... but please don't make me decide all this for you! When you note me asking for a commission, be sure you know -exactly- what you want. However, if you can't decide on a theme or something, feel free to tell me all your ideas and let me pick one, I love having artistic freedom and having a few different things for me to choose from not only would help me, it would help you, because I would choose the one that I think I could do best!
DO understand my terms. Part of commissioning me or agreeing to a trade with me is reading and understanding my terms, and not doing certain things anyways and saying "oh, I didn't read that part." I will link you to this as soon as trades/commissions are agreed on, and I will expect you to have read and understood everything here, as I would take the time to read yours if I were throwing money at you for art! I know it's lengthy but it's all very important!
BAD IDEA!
DO NOT expect me to read your mind! Anything you want done in the trade/commission, mention it! Give refs, descriptions, whatever, so that I don't have to make so many edits in the future
DO NOT commission me for a character that doesn't belong to you without permission. That's a given, though it's been done to me before and I had to delete a picture that I worked days on due to the owner of the character discovering it after I'd already done it. This upsets me DEEPLY to have to do, and it upsets me that someone would lie and risk my reputation just for a picture.
DO NOT draw me giftart, expecting something in return. If you are nice about it, and genuinely have drawn me something out of the kindness of your heart - I WILL keep you in mind for when I have no other artistic obligations, however if you draw me something and then go on to ask me for stuff, this is not good.
DO NOT expect me to change my art style to please you. "Oh, can you maybe do it in so-and-so's style? They're super neat-o!" Hey. If you like this other person so much, why not commission them or ask them for a trade? If you commission me, expect it to be done in MY style, with results that are not made in an attempt to copy another artist.
Things I like to draw, and things I don't!
I thought this would be a beneficial section to add, as I know I like to see things other artists enjoy drawing! It helps me know what they'd have the most fun with, and makes me feel more confident that they would be drawing to their full potential if they're drawing something they enjoy.
WILL NOT DRAW: I will not draw Vera in any sexual situation with your character, or any other random character. I have been asked things such as "will you draw her with bigger boobs?" and "will you draw her in a sexual situation if I pay you?" The answer is NO, although it may be possible with my other characters.
COMMISSION INFO:
ALL OF THIS INFO IS IMPORTANT SO PLEASE READ.
If you commission me for a full-colored piece, you have the option to get up to THREE sketches (if requested), AFTER at least half payment. If none of these are satisfactory, or if I have to make more than 2 edits, add $10 for each additional sketch or re-do. I can tolerate a certain amount of picky-ness, and if I make a flaw of which is my own fault rather than yours, it's completely understandable that you would ask me to change it. This rule is only in place for the extremely picky commissioners of whom I have to work twice as hard and many more hours to satisfy.
All my work is on cardstock or bristol (twice the size as a regular sheet of paper) for now. I left most of my art supplies when I moved, so 8 1/2 x 11" cardstock is all I have to work with in the way of traditional media.
I can only accept -postal- money orders and paypal at this time!
If traditional work, be sure to mention if you want it shipped to you so I can give you an estimate. If you're outside the US, mention this before I give the estimate.
If you need references of past customers, just ask for the list. FULL or at least HALF payment comes before I begin any work. If half payment, send the first half BEFORE the initial sketch(es), and the other half BEFORE completion. If you're someone I've worked with before, I may be more trusting and lenient with these rules.

COMMISSIONS FOR ICONS ARE CLOSED for now.
TIME ESTIMATE
Depending on the to-do list I have, commissions can take anywhere from a few days to a few months to finish. I can't say exactly how long I will take, fair warning... but on average, you can ask most of my commissioners... I take maybe a week or two weeks to complete a commission. It may take less time if you're really not picky and if what you asked for is something I can draw without difficulty.
TRADES:
If we have agreed on a trade, it's up to you to let me know what you would like, so send me an email letting me know in full detail. Or if it doesn't matter, say it doesn't matter. Don't just say "wanna trade? OK!" and leave it at that
I love to do trades, more than to do commissions usually. But while I don't judge you based on your talent I do judge your art based on the effort you put into it. Whether or not it looks like it I try to put my utmost effort into my art, I spend sometimes more than a week on one piece, taking breaks only for sleep and other necessities. So I expect the same dedication (or somewhat equal to) in the piece that you would do in return. In other words... I am not going to spend countless hours on an image when you are doing something that took you five minutes on lined paper, and same for me!
